Bengali Baha Saree

A Bengali Baha Saree from my mother’s saree collection. My obsession with sarees dates back to at least a decade. Borrowing sarees from my mother’s collection and flaunting them at home on Saturday afternoons with nowhere to be and no occasions was the highlight of my day.

After moving to the US, I would anxiously wait for festivities to wear these beautiful drapes. This saree specifically is a Cotton Silk Handloom Saree from West bengal, and known for their unique contrast pallu.

So I decided to drape this unique saree for Ganesh Chaturthi this year and paired it with a Red Pure silk blouse, some clunky bohemian earrings and a necklace from Westside.

The color combination of this saree is what I loved about it but this is a light weight, breezy saree which is very easy to drape and equally easy to maintain.

The Bengali Baha sarees range from Rs.500 to Rs 4500; This specific saree was for Rs 1500. This saree can be clubbed with a traditional blouse and jewellery to get a uber traditional look or with some clunky bohemian jewellery for a semi- traditional look.

This saree works well for any occasion and gives a very royal look and feel and is a total value for money saree.
